You also have the option to analyze and size the emitters in a per-room basis. All types of emitter categories are supported: underfloor heating (UFH), fan coils, and radiators.
You will work using the canvas style interface already used in Step2 of the Detailed Module. By selecting each room, you can recap the information selected in Step2. The most important value here is the room heat loss value, because you need to make sure that, for each room, the sum of the emitter output accounts for that specif room heat loss.
Room heat loss <= Sum of emitter output
The way you achieve this is by following the process:
- Select a room;
- Verify room info (heat loss);
- Add one ore more emitters (up to 2; possible combinations are 2 radiators, 2 fan coils, 2 UFH loops, 1 radiator + 1 fan coil, 1 radiator + 1 UFH loop, 1 fan coil + 1 UFH loop);
- Verify if the above condition is satisfied.
- If yes, you can proceed to the next room.
- If not you can add or edit emitters, or go back to step 3 and increase the flow temperature.
- If yes, you can proceed to the next room.
Once the condition is satisfied to all rooms, it's time to proceed to the next step.
For each emitter type, you also have the option to select if it is already installed or not, and add a photo. This feature is interesting for retrofit situations were some emitters are already installed, but the emitter sizing analysis must also be carried out, and may require additional emitter installation.
UFH sizing is more complex and requires insertion information regarding additional variables such as floor covering characteristics, space occupation. You can also assess if the output W/m2 does not exceed the maximum surface temperature.
